Our Six-Week Copper Peptide Experiment: One Hand Treated, One Hand Untreated

We didn't want to just tell you the research behind GHK-Cu is real. So one of us tested it, on our own hands, for six weeks.

The setup was simple: two hands, same person, same age. One hand treated nightly with Renewal Serum. The other left alone as a control. Same towel, same lighting, same position, every single night.

Week one: building the habit

Night one was mostly skepticism. Two drops, thirty seconds of gentle circular massage, absorbed completely with no residue and no waiting around.

By night three, the treated hand already felt noticeably more supple than the untreated one — subtle, but there. Night four brought the first visual hint: the fine lines on the treated hand looked slightly softer under direct light. The untreated hand looked unchanged.

Night seven closed out the first week in the same lighting, same position, same routine. One hand treated. One hand untreated. Same person.

Week six: the real comparison

Key observations after six weeks:

  • Skin on the treated hand appeared smoother in texture.
  • Fine lines on the treated hand were less prominent than on the untreated hand.
  • The untreated hand showed no noticeable change over the same period.

What this experiment is, and isn't

This is one person, one bottle, and six weeks of not skipping a night. It is not a clinical trial, and we're not presenting it as one. There's no control group beyond a single untreated hand, no third-party measurement, and no blinding — the person applying the serum knew which hand was which.

In a future follow-up, we'd like to add something more objective than a visual comparison — a skin moisture meter, for instance — rather than relying on eyes alone.

We'd also rather be upfront about something we learned while fact-checking our own claims: the clinical trials most often cited for GHK-Cu's skin benefits typically ran over 12 weeks, not four to six. So if anything, this experiment is an early look, not a final verdict.
